Hey, guess I'm alive or whatever!  We'll see when I get to uploading more art to this thing.  Though I might have some stuff.  Do I have stuff?  Yeah...  I got stuff.

Oh, and old tumblr i linked to in the last journal is gone.  I got a new one.  I'll link to it later :/.

That title pretty much sums it up, though I don't necessarily plan on giving up my dA account just yet.  And I am still drawing and stuff so fret not!  Most of my art has been for developing my web comic ideas.  Like for reals.  They have been consuming my life since this past summer.  And I've been sketching quite a bit but have no real finished pieces to speak of.  I've done quite a bit of writing too, but nothing worth sharing yet.

If you'd care to have a looky-loo, I've started a new tumblr (thattoriperson.tumblr.com/) devoted solely to my own artwork (with perhaps the occasional reblog of friends' art).  It's mostly human character sketches for my college web comic, and some of them are kind of naked, just to forewarn you.  In November, I plan on updating every day with a new and hopefully interesting sketch, trying new things and the like.  I will keep ya'll posted on that.

And I may delete the other tumblr because I am barely on it and I kind of dislike it immensely.  But I may change my mind, I am very susceptible to that.

Anyhoozle, how has everyone been?  I've been hanging in there.  I went to Otakon with awesome people in July.  My b-day in September was super relaxed (had the day off!) and I ate delicious foods, like a Belgian waffle for breakfast and eggplant parm from this nice Italian place nearby, and they even gave me a free slice of carrot cake!  So many carbs!  Hahaha... I am fat.  Then I went to Schenectady, NY to visit a friend, and New Hampshire to visit my brother (at his college campus) this past month, all the while working away at the little grocery store that employs me.   And people still ask me why I am still there and not being a lucrative artist person.... yeah.  Working on it?

Oh and Happy Early Halloween!  Watch out for that crazy Frankenstorm!  Seriously, be careful you beautiful East Coasters you.

I bought two shiny new composition notebooks at work today.  Each one is for notes for one of the two webcomicky stories I am working on concurrently.  One is a fantasy and one is more slice-of-life.  The first one features animal characters and the second stars college kids (don't worry, they're not going to be what you think... whatever it is you are thinking).  They probably sound a million jillion times better in my head than they ever will to you guys, but I will share further details and much more art down the line.  And I have many many notes written down already, but the old notes are scattered about, you see.  I tend to do this to myself.

This makes me happy for the lamest reasons, I just had to share.

And I am watching Gravity Falls now like everyone else.  It is pretty darn good, you guys.  Pretty darn good indeed.

Okay, back to art stuffs.

SDCC

Yeah, I didn't go.  But I can't be the only one who does not feel insanely jealous of anyone that might have gone.  I mean, I went to NYCC last October and it was by far the biggest convention I've ever attended.  And I've only attended 3 different ones, which is a little sad.  It was actually too crowded for me (woah, agoraphopic much self?).  There was just too much to do and see, that I didn't know where to start.  So I can't imagine SDCC would be for me.  But I may end up going there eventually just to experience it.  I couldn't call myself a proper geek lady if I didn't. ^^

Though at NY Comic Con I did see Jeff Smith (the author of Bone, etc.) talk and that was kind of neat.  Though the moderator lady incurred most of the audience's wrath by saying that Bone was superior to Star Wars.

I mean, I really love that comic... but yeah.  I still found her amusing though.

I did not see the damn Avengers panel and I did not care.  Got nothing against the Avengers though, I just did not care.  But I saw a Batman one.  And a few others.

And I can talk about things that happened to me last October because I was inactive on dA then.  So there :p.

I did not submit anything last month.  ANYTHING.  And I feel pretty darn bad about this!   But I plan on doing more this month, even though it is gonna be kind of cray.  I have at least four small trips planned in July alone, including Otakon (for which I would like to finish some sort of cosplay but I may not have the time or energy :c.  But at least ah gets to see some awesome friends <3).  I am also actively seeking out freelance work, mainly because I feel bad about offering up commissions on here due to the whole lack of existing lately thing.  And lots of other artists seem to be offering up commissions, so I'll just wait a bit.

And there is always my Tumblr azymmuth.tumblr.com/ which I updated today and will try to update more often.  You know, like an art blog.  With my art.  I want to do as many speed paints this month as possible, and post a lot more original sketches.  And just, no more fan arts (for the time being anyway).  None.  I know I am a broken record on this, but I mean it this time.  Unless I really truly feel like it.  Or it is a gift or something, gifts are totally fine.  There, I'll stop bringing it up. :)

In other news, I saw Brave with my friend this past Thursday.  It was pretty good.  I'm not going to say it was excellent, and I am not going to say that I loved it.  But there were parts that I enjoyed and the mother/daughter relationship felt very genuine.  And the bear animation was fantastic.  And the backgrounds were OMGgorgeous.  And I have mixed feelings about all this photo-realism in CG animation but it was appropriate in this case (and the character animation was fun and stylized so yeah).  So, not my favorite Pixar film overall, but Idk which one is my favorite anyway.  I'll get back to you on that.  Or not.

Also, I owe someone a comic jam that is long overdue.  You'll see that on Tumblr this week hopefully.  These past couple weeks have been... something :/.
